Thoughts about Harry Potter

|

Yes Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince was amazing!!! The best HP movie by far, and the fact that it was funny was a pleasant surprise. I went with four of my friends to see it and had to stand in line to get in. That was a new experience for me. I don't remember ever having to stand in line to see a movie, but of course this is Harry Potter we're talking about here, so it seemed fitting. First of all, wow the kids are all grown up and the professors have all grown old. It so weird to watch each movie and see how much the characters have changed. The introduction of a few new characters was refreshing too. Especially Ron's "snogging" buddy. She was a riot, and I laughed until I thought I might piss myself. "Won Won" or "has he been asking for me?"...all I could say was WOW! She was awesome! Also Professor Slughorn was funny, and an aloof sort of way. All I could think was "he's an airhead, and shouldn't he be larger?" and the character who played Tom Riddle as a child was great. He really played that part to a T. Bravo! Of course my favorite part was when Ron ate Harry's chocolate's with the love potion in them. Haha he was brilliant! Only reinforcing my favoritism for Rupert Grint:o) The addition of the new locations in the movie were a grand addition too. The cave, and the sky lab, and of course the opening sequence in the muggle world. Fabulous! All in all it was a fantastic movie going experience and a feast for the eyes, with awesome special effects. It's also kind of bittersweet to know that there is only 1 book left to bring to the big screen, but I did hear that they are splitting the last book into two movies. I think that's a brilliant idea being that there is so much to the last book. At any rate I look forward to it, and in the meantime I am going to see the movie again tomorrow and will re-read the series.

So glad to hear a favorable review. It really seem to be split 50/50. Some hate it and some loved it. I am personally on the love it side even though the last 20 minutes was a bit of a let down. Can't wait to go and see it in 3d. I am jealous you get to see it again already.

I am taking my son and my newfew to see it tomorrow:) I do agree about the last 20 minutes thing, but in the end it was well worth standing in line for! It was kind of weird to see so little of Hagrid in this one, he has always been one of my favorite characters. It just had a very different feel to it than the previous movies. Of course those of us who have read the books (in most cases more than once) know that things do change more in this book than any of the other ones.
